Honeymoon – plan it well!
It’s easy to forget to plan honeymoon in the wedding fever. Dress, venues, vendors, flowers, invitations, and so on, so on… The list is endless and I totally understand why some people just can’t even think about organising honeymoon at the same time.
It doesn’t have to be so painful, though. Today I’d like to talk about some ways of making your honeymoon plan effortless and as easy as possible.
Plan honeymoon earlier
Don’t wait until the last minute. It will be just additional stress and arguing over honeymoon details probably is not the way you would like to start your married life, is it? Talk about the places you’d like to visit, perhaps make a list of your dream places. It can be a really nice break from planning the wedding and talking all the time about this one particular day.
Narrow your choices
When you have your lists done, it’s worth to compare them against each other. This might even narrow your honeymoon plan to just one place that will appear on bth lists. Boom, all the pain of choosing the destination is gone! If there is more places that are the same on both of your lists, then you can filter according to the budget. Set up the budget (just as you were doing while planning a wedding) and stick to it! It’s good to check the list against the activities you’d like to plan on your honeymoon, or even the weather. You can always check the offers for the specific destinations in the time frame of your choice.
Book your transport and accommodation
There is nothing more frustrating than to plan honeymoon and forget about the flight tickets, hotel and transport from and to the airport. Taking care of them the last minute is really stressful! The best option is to book in advance and sleep calmly without worrying that you would have nothing left but the hotel you really hate. If you think about it early enough, you might even get better deals!
Pack before the wedding
I know it might sound ridiculous, but just think about it. You will be tired and excited after your big day. You will spend days planning the wedding and additional days to plan honeymoon. Do you really want to pack your luggage after all that? And now think what happens if the bag is already packed. You grab the passport and leave! How comfortable and convinient is that? And, chances of forgeting something important are much lower, because you will have days not hours to think about it!
Think about activities
It’s smart to tell your hotel (which you already booked, right? Right?) 😉 that you are trying top plan honeymoon. Usually they will be able to suggest some nice activities or recommend places worth visiting. It’s not about planning your entire trip in 100%, but having at least rough plan will mae you calmer, give you a chance to enjoy your trip and still leave the space for spontaneous decisions.
